Our Text

". . . I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full."

John 10:10

— Faith's Beginning

Two requirements: (Hebrews 11:6)

Without it is impossible to please God.

1. We must believe

2. And that God

— The Focus of Our Eyes

2 Corinthians 4:18 instructs us to not focus our attention on what is , but rather on what is .

What is is temporary.

What is is eternal.

— The Security of Salvation

Read John1:12. Have you received Jesus as your Savior? * If you have, then He is your Heavenly Father—your Good Shepherd (John 10:11)— and you are His child.

Read 1 John 5:11-13. Who has life? And who doesn't? . John wrote these verses so simply in order that the reader would know whether he had or didn't have .

Read John 10:27-30.

As one of God's sheep, by faith in Him as your Savior, you are in Jesus' and also in the Father's . According to these verses, who can snatch you away from God?

Where does your righteousness (goodness) come from? Read Philippians 3:7-9. Paul's (the writer) and your righteousness comes from?

— Faith For Daily Living

From this list of words, write down the ones that will last forever: Family, Earth, Soul, Home, God, God's Word, A Body, A Job, Jesus, Money. .

Read 1 John 2:17. What is passing away? What lasts forever?

From John 6:28,29, what is the will [work] of God?

Where is our true citizenship according to Philippians 3:20?

— God's Gifts For You

The two gifts: Possessions and Time in which to use them.

Prioritize your time.

Read the account of the poor widow in Mark 12:41-44. It wasn't the large amount that got Jesus' attention, but the percentage of the widow's total wealth. Everyone has the same amount of time in their day. How you use it—how much is devoted to God—is what gets Jesus' attention in your life.

In the list below, write down the average number of minutes you spend weekly at each.

Bible reading or meditating

Ministering in faith to someone's need

Witnessing to your faith

This is not nearly a complete list. Faith comes from the heart, not in just the doing of activities. On a piece of paper write down these amounts of time you spent at each. Ask yourself how you feel about the use of your time. And then re-ask yourself that question on a regular basis.

Prioritize your Possessions.

Make a list on a piece of paper of your 1) spiritual gift, 2) God-given abilities, 3) physical and financial resources, and 4) relationships that you can use by faith to please and honor your Lord and Savior. Now ask God regularly how He would have you use what He has given you.

". . . we live by faith, not by sight."
2 Corinthians 5:7

— When Things Go Completely Wrong

Jesus understands. In Hebrews 4:15, Jesus knows how we feel because He .

In Philippians 1:29, Paul says that along with becoming a believer in Jesus comes .

God's promise to every believer: (Romans 8:28) Not a promise for everyone, but only .

Read Philippians 4:6,7. In times of suffering, we are not to , but to . And when we do, by faith, we will have .

With complete trust in God, in the worst of situations, we need to always (1 Thessalonians 5:18) .

Living by faith
takes a day-by-day
—even hour-by-hour—
decision to trust God.

1. From the lesson, without faith, how much is God pleased?

2. How do you know for sure that you have eternal life?

3. Explain how you would tell a friend how they can have the life of faith that you have.
